The Research Institute for Official and Survey Statistics (RIFOSS) is sad to report that Prof. Dr. Susanne Rässler, chairholder of the Chair of Statistics and Econometrics at the University of Bamberg and one of the founding members of the institute’s scientific advisory board, has unexpectedly passed away at the age of 55 on 29/08/2018. Prof. Rässler was an extraordinary researcher specialising in multiple imputation of missing values and thereby establishing this field of statistics in Germany. Besides others she closely collaborated with Prof. Donald B. Rubin, Ph.D. Prof. Rässler was very passionate about teaching as well and was well-loved by her students.
